Maal was the deity of the Byzantines. Little is known about the specifics of its worship, although it is known that Maal was a brutal, bloodthirsty god, demanding human sacrifices. Its followers were also required to consume mind-altering potions in order to commune with the "beast god", as it was referred to by Malik.
